Benchmade – Overall Plant Upgrades

From 2021 to 2022, Olsson Industrial Electric supported more than 40 projects as part of a broad modernization effort at Benchmade’s Portland manufacturing facility. Work included plant-wide electrical maintenance, power, lighting, IT, and network upgrades, along with improvements to automated blade mills, assembly lines, bevel grinders, laser engravers, and PLC panels, with engineering and commissioning support provided throughout.

Gray Construction – MCG Pure Chemical O-Plant Phase 1

For MCG Pure Chemical’s O-Plant Phase 1 in Forest Grove, Olsson Industrial Electric designed, manufactured, and installed major electrical infrastructure for the new facility. The project included main switchgear, a 3000 kW standby generator, MCCs, distribution panels, lighting systems, plant-wide power wiring, controls integration, and extensive underground conduit, with engineering and commissioning support from the broader Olsson team.

Harder Mechanical – MCG Pure Chemical O-Plant Phase 2

Olsson Industrial Electric finished Phase 1 of the MGC Pure Chemical Plant in Forest Grove in 2019. Quickly after, Phase 2 was sent out for Bid and Olsson was the successful electrical contractor with Harder Mechanical working as the general contractor

USACE – Little Goose Dam Drainage and Underwater Pumps and Oil Water Separator Upgrades

As a subcontractor to Northbank Civil and Marine, Olsson Industrial Electric completed key electrical upgrades at Little Goose Dam in Dayton, Washington. Scope included supplying and installing a new medium-voltage MCC lineup, replacing drainage and unwatering pumps, completing cybersecurity work, and upgrading oil-water separator electrical and controls, with substantial engineering and design support from OS Engineering.

USACE – McNary Powerhouse Precipitation Replacement

This project involves the demolition and replacement of key electrical and control system components to support four new pump motors and updated system functionality. The work includes disconnecting, removing, and disposing of all existing cable, conduit, and electrical equipment associated with the project, as well as installing new power distribution...

USACE – Chief Joseph Dam Spillway Sump Pump and Controls Upgrade

At Chief Joseph Dam in Douglas County, Washington, Olsson Industrial Electric removed and replaced conduit, wiring, and PLC controls supporting vertical line shaft motors and submersible pumps. The project also integrated new 5kV switchgear into the PLC control system, included breaker troubleshooting for NEC compliance, installed wiring for a new trolley system, and provided engineering support throughout construction.

USACE – Foster Dam Electrical Reliability Upgrade

For the Foster Dam Electrical Reliability Upgrade in Sweet Home, Oregon, Olsson Industrial Electric helped modernize the existing power system through demolition, replacement, and integration of critical equipment. Work included new 4160V switchgear, transformers, motor control centers, panelboards, SCADA PLC and ER cabinets, a diesel generator system, ventilation upgrades, and in-house controls integration for complex switchgear systems.

Douglas County PUD – Wells Dam GSU Transformer Replacement

At Wells Dam in Douglas County, Washington, Olsson Industrial Electric manufactured, installed, tested, and commissioned five new generator step-up transformers as part of a major replacement project. The work also included removal and disposal of the existing GSU transformers, new transformer oil supply with lab analysis, and proper disposal of multiple batches of existing transformer oil.

Douglas County PUD – Wells Dam MCC Replacement

Manufacture and deliver (20) Motor Control Centers (MCC's). Install (10) of the Motor Control Centers for A-Boards. The other (10) B-board Motor Control Centers were installed by the District. Install associated wiring and supporting hardware to allow for Motor Control Center Installation
