Harder Mechanical – MCG Pure Chemical O-Plant Phase 2

OVERVIEW

Olsson Industrial Electric finished Phase 1 of the MGC Pure Chemical Plant in Forest Grove in 2019. Quickly after, Phase 2 was sent out for Bid and Olsson was the successful electrical contractor with Harder Mechanical working as the general contractor. 

 

SCOPE OF WORK

Phase 2 of MGC Forest Grove Consisted of the following:

  • Completion of the ORD Building, a specialized testing facility for MGC personnel.
  • Building consisted of new power distribution, lighting, receptacles, and network.
  • Completion of the Hazardous Materials Storage Building. Building consisted of new power distribution and network.
  • Completion of additional Ultra-Pure Water room. Work consisted of power distribution, lighting, receptacles, and instrumentation.
  • Additional parking lot expansion that consisted of additional underground utilities, lighting, and camera system.
  • Additional tanks were added to tank farm, which in turn added (16) additional motors, instrumentation, lighting, and grounding.
  • Additional truck scale in MGC’s building 2, which consisted of new scale control panel and associated instrumentation.
  • Provided plant heat tracing on all new process lines as well as a new heat trace control panel. Heat Trace control panel was designed and fabricated by Olsson Controls.
  • Additional instrumentation in Building 1.
  • Installation of new DCS enclosure.
