SCOPE OF WORK
Olsson Industrial Electric is leading the manufacture, installation, testing, and commissioning of five new generator step-up (GSU) transformers at the Wells Hydroelectric Project. This process ensures each unit meets rigorous performance and reliability standards before integration into the power system. As part of the installation, Olsson is supplying transformer oil for all five units, conducting comprehensive lab analysis to verify quality and compliance with industry specifications. In addition to commissioning the new equipment, the team is responsible for the safe removal and disposal of five existing GSU transformers, ensuring minimal impact on surrounding infrastructure.
In addition, Olsson is managing the proper disposal of six existing batches of transformer oil, adhering to environmental regulations and best practices for hazardous material handling. Every phase of the project is executed with precision, efficiency, and strict adherence to safety protocols, reinforcing Douglas County PUD’s commitment to reliable, sustainable energy production.
